Ball Return Instructions

Thanks so much for participating in our pickleball recycling program. We are a non-profit organization working to help save the planet one pickleball at a time. P3 Cares knows you are as excited as we are about the pickleball recycling program! This process has been years in the making and we appreciate all your help with our efforts to make our vision come to fruition.

Any balls can be recycled (indoor or outdoor). The container you will receive is a pop up corrugated plastic 22 gal bin, a bit bigger than a tall kitchen trashcan (picture below). It holds about 60 balls. The container stays at your facility & once filled, you empty the balls into a box so that you are able to ship the balls back in any way that is best for you. You can flatten the balls, shred them, cut them in half, etc. to create more space for shipping.
You will be shipping the balls to:
P3 Cares
4186 Log Teal Drive
Waldorf, MD 20603

Shipping costs will depend on the number of balls, the size of the container you use, and your location in the US; but the good news is they are not very heavy. You do not need to have a certain number of balls collected before you send them to us, we will take them in any quantity. We suggest you use the cheapest shipping method possible, UPS, Fed Ex or US Mail. We know that it is expensive to send the balls back to P3 Cares. Depending on where you’re located, the number of balls being returned and which carrier you use, it can start at $50 & up to return one box of balls. In Phase 2 of our rollout, P3 Cares is working to engage other donors, sponsors, and grants to reduce or fully cover the return shipping costs. Please stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. Until more funding is available, we encourage you to find a local corporate sponsor who feels strongly about recycling pickleballs to finance the shipping of the pickleballs back to us.

Hundreds of thousands of pickleballs are going into the landfills and oceans every year. We cannot do our part to recycle pickleballs without the support and participation of our fellow pickleball communities! We are grateful for this opportunity and thank you for being part of the movement!
